With the support of Foot Clan remnants and Professor Stockman, Shredder is preparing an escape plan, which he intends to carry out during his transfer to another prison. April manages to get information about the escape from the professor's files, but the ninja turtles, arriving in their upgraded garbage-truck van, fail to stop the mutated Shredder, who slips out from under their noses at the last moment through a portal developed by Stockman.
