In 1974 of the Buddhist calendar, corresponding to 1421 AD, the influence of the royal court of Ayutthaya during the reign of King Rama II, who himself hailed from those lands, grew stronger than that of Sukhothai. It kept growing day by day, expanding its domain eastward. The army of Ayutthaya conquered the City of Angels within 7 months.
