About the title
Mixed martial arts fighter Cole Young has more than once agreed to throw a fight for money. He knows nothing of his heritage, or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung sends his greatest warrior, the powerful cryomancer Sub-Zero, to hunt him down. Fearing for his family's safety, Young is advised by special forces Major Jax — who bears the same dragon mark as Cole — to seek out Sonya Blade. He soon finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, Elder God and protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. There Cole trains alongside seasoned warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and rogue mercenary Kano, preparing to join Earth's greatest champions in facing off against Outworld's forces in a battle for the universe. But can Cole find the strength to unlock his arcana — the powerful force within his soul — not only to save his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?
