About the title
Caring for six-year-old Lilo Pelekai has fallen on the shoulders of her older sister Nani. Nani has to work and study a lot, so the girl is often left alone. One day a neighbor suggests getting a dog from the shelter to help the girl cope with loneliness. However, instead of a dog, Lilo brings home an adorable alien from the shelter. The girl names her new pet Stitch, but on his home planet he was known as Experiment 626. He is a fugitive from the galactic police and the product of genetic experiments, distinguished by a tendency for destruction, an ability to learn quickly, and near-total invulnerability.
