About the title
The long-awaited "zero hour" has arrived. It's July 1st on the gendarme sergeant's calendar, which means the time of mass vacations has come in France. Crowds of tourists, wild with thirst for fun, rush to the seaside, and our old acquaintances — the keepers of order from the resort town of Saint-Tropez — must hold back the tourists' fierce onslaught by any means necessary. And so, for reckless speeding on mountain roads, Cruchot arrests the charming Josepha, who turns out to be the widow of a gendarmerie colonel.
