About the title
On one hand, the plot has plenty of variety — take the story of a gangster's ghost living in the Baxters' house (that's the new family's, and the new boy's, surname), or the burglars' motive, since what they're looking for in the basement isn't just anything, but a lost painting by Edvard Munch. On the other hand, it's essentially impossible to enjoy this fifth adventure of the boy and his ill-fated guests: the filmmakers play it too safe and fail to wrap up the prepared surprises in an appealing way.
