About the title
Two years have passed since Willy was set free. During the holidays, Jesse and his parents travel to the coast, where people have often spotted a lone orca. The reunion of old friends is joyful, but sadly brief: an old tanker runs aground, and the oil leaking from the vessel puts Willy's life and that of all the other ocean dwellers at risk.
