About the title
October 1950. Fearing the approach of American forces to its border, China decides to enter the Korean War. Numerous volunteer forces set out to defend their homeland and Korea from imperialist invasion, including the decorated commander Wu Qianli. His younger brother, eager to prove himself, enlists in the army and ends up in the same corps as Qianli. The brothers and their comrades-in-arms face clashes with a far better-armed enemy, including the strategically crucial Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.
