About the title
Konstantin, a songwriter and virtuoso guitarist, escapes his mounting problems by fleeing to the Mikhailovskoye nature reserve. Kostya has long since lost every means of making a living, has nearly given up hope of being heard, and lives on inertia, leaning heavily on alcohol. His wife and daughter are preparing to leave for Canada, while the same question endlessly circles in his head: what exactly went wrong?
