About the series
Shortly before the collapse of the USSR, Marina and Ivan Schastlivy have triplets and begin their life in their own — at last — apartment number 13. But the naive 1980s give way to the hungry 1990s, and the mood in the family can no longer be called sunny. Ivan, once the youngest and most promising PhD candidate at Moscow State University, is forced to become a tutor and stay-at-home dad while Marina earns money at the market. Then comes the year 2012 — the energy of a new era. How does one start a new life, build a career, and, most importantly, make his wife fall in love with him again, when her feelings have been clouded by everyday problems, unspoken resentments and old grudges?
