About the series
Lyokha is a former police officer. In the middle of a drinking binge, he learns that his sister Katya is terminally ill. She doesn't want her daughter sent to an orphanage after her death, and asks Lyokha to pull himself together so he can become the eight-year-old girl's guardian. Lyokha does everything he can to help his sister: he calls in old connections and gets a job at a police station. The station turns out to be no ordinary one. The criminals Lyokha has to catch are fairy-tale characters: Zmey Gorynych, Baba Yaga, and other assorted evil spirits.
