About the title
A series of strange child disappearances has plunged the rural town of Miles into distrust. Shadows of grief sweep through the streets and through the silence of the house where the ailing mother Sonya fears that an unspeakable evil will soon abduct her 11-year-old daughter Violet. Estranged from her husband, Sonya suffers from paranoia in which echoes of a once-troubled childhood resurface, threatening both her sanity and what she loves most. As strange visions and unsettling neighborhood figures appear, Sonya will have to uncover more than just one terrible truth.
