About the title
The story unfolds over a single day in the life of a wealthy Italian family living in a mansion in northern Italy. To society, they appear to be a model of virtue and family values, but as soon as the doors close, their true, hypocritical, and vile nature comes out. One night, a terrible tragedy occurs in their home, shedding light on their worst qualities.
