About the title
A young family with a nursing infant visits elderly parents living in a remote northern settlement. Suddenly their child falls ill with dysentery. The village has no medicine, the phone line has been cut, and the roads have been washed out by the spring flood. The young father, Vanya, decides to make his own way to the district center to call in an emergency medical flight. But the journey ahead is long and dangerous.
