About the title
Amanda's life, centered around her old 1991 Toyota Camry — which served as both her home and her means of transportation — changes dramatically when her car is stolen and then impounded. Amanda faces the need to pay an unthinkable $21,000 to get the vehicle back. Unwilling to accept this blatant injustice, she finds a young lawyer and starts legal proceedings. Over many months, Amanda fights desperately to get her car back, but runs into bureaucratic obstacles. Along this difficult path, she finds support from women who have gone through similar hardships.
