About the title
Leslie has spent her whole life in West Texas, standing up to her own unfair fate while trying to raise her only son alone. She tried to strive for a better life for her child's sake. Unexpectedly, fate took pity on the poor woman and gave her a shot at a bright, comfortable future when she won a substantial sum in the lottery. But the heroine had no idea how to handle money, and the years spent in euphoria ended along with the winnings she once received. Now the dull days no longer brought her joy, and she sank to the very bottom. Daily binges at the bar, bottle in hand, became her whole existence, and she simply burned through her life, forgetting about her son. Many tried to help Leslie get back on track and pull herself together before she destroyed herself, but she resisted, sinking deeper into a world of hopelessness. Escaping reality doesn't bring the drunken woman to her senses — instead, she sinks into the very abyss, unless she finds the strength to rise again and simply live.
