Former fire crew leader Hannah still hasn't gotten over the death of a subordinate during a forest fire a year ago, along with three boys who happened to be in the area. Now her workplace is a lookout tower in the forests of Montana. Meanwhile, an ordinary accountant who recently learned compromising information about powerful people is on the run from hitmen. Together with his 12-year-old son, he races by car to those same Montana forests, where his late wife's brother works as sheriff.
