About the title
Matt, a lone alcoholic who has hit rock bottom, struggles to stay sober for 30 days in order to fulfill his dying mother's wish — to visit her at the hospice while sober. His Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, Fred, offers him refuge on his farm, where Matt finds Yupik, a homeless husky with a unique talent. At first the relationship between the man and the dog is rocky, but with the help of Montana's close-knit community, these two strays find common ground and learn what it takes to reach the finish line.
