About the title
After a series of misfortunes, single mother Elaine moves with her son Tom, who has mild learning difficulties, to her grandfather's remote farm in the English countryside. Their only neighbors are the withdrawn but always helpful Ward and his daughter Holly. However, when Tom accidentally discovers traces of a terrible secret at the local lake, the neighbors' friendliness gives way to other feelings, and a real threat looms over the newcomers.
