About the series
The series is set in the early 1980s, when construction began in New York on the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center—in the very neighborhood the Irish crime gang known as the "Westies" considered their own turf. Naturally, the gang wants a piece of the financial windfall, but an internal conflict between the younger generation and the old leadership is undermining the gang's foundations, all while it is also forced to contend with the numerically superior Italian mafia.
