About the title
In the remote forest village of Gokseong, terrible things are happening — people suddenly break out in sores, act strangely, and even attack their own relatives. Several murders have already occurred. The police are baffled. According to rumors, either poisonous mushrooms or a visiting Japanese man are to blame. Local police officer Jong-gu watches the events unfold with detachment — until the nightmare touches his own daughter.
