About the title
Teenager Paul lives in isolation from the world. He has hypertrichosis (a condition marked by excessive hair growth not normal for that area of skin), and every trip outside is stressful for him. Local kids torment him, and people are afraid of him. His father does everything he can to make his son's life easier, but Paul's ordinary teenage struggles of finding himself and becoming his own person are compounded by his health and appearance. On his birthday, Paul receives a letter with information about his long-lost mother and runs away from home to find her.
