About the title
After several years on the rise, rock star Dewey Finn's brilliant career ends in total failure. All that awaits him now is unpaid debts and severe depression. But after intercepting a phone call not meant for him and being amazed by the salary offered ($650 a week), Dewey lands a job at a private school. His passion for music and rapport with the kids work wonders there, and soon a chance appears to restart his stardom. All he needs is to win the battle of the best rock bands — and all his problems will be easily solved. Dewey is full of optimism, especially with his new friend by his side — nine-year-old Zack, a virtuoso guitarist!
