About the title
Young seminarian Thomas Dagget has a terrifying vision during his ordination ceremony. Shaken by what he saw, Thomas renounces his faith and, years later, becomes a police officer. One day he is visited by the angel Simon, who tries to bring him back to faith. Simon warns Thomas of a new war between angels that will soon break out on Earth as well. At the same time, the archangel Gabriel descends into the world of men, eager to claim the soul of a recently deceased Colonel Hawthorne.
