About the title
The giant "Pink Panther" diamond, given by an Indian sheikh to his daughter Dala, becomes the bait meant to lure a jewel thief. As he sets his cunning traps, the policeman has no idea that he himself will get caught in them, since his wife's lover is precisely the phantom he has been fruitlessly trying to catch.
