About the title
During World War I, young American nurse Lillie Robinson, inspired by Dr. Jude Gresham's ideas about helping those in need, travels to a remote clinic in the mountains of Anatolia to help the residents of a poor little village. On the way, the girl is accompanied by Turkish lieutenant Ismail Veli, serving in the local garrison. At the hospital, Lillie meets the doctor again and soon becomes entangled in a complicated love triangle.
