About the title
The film's plot unfolds in a small English town. Long ago, a large number of mines operated here, and it was a major industrial town. However, many years have passed since then, most of the mines have closed, the miners have moved away, and only true native residents remain. Only one establishment still operates in the town — a place called "The Old Oak." Local residents have many warm and fond memories tied to this place. Life goes on as usual, but one day refugees from Syria begin arriving in the town. The influx of migrants radically changes the town's quiet and peaceful way of life.
