About the title
After a powerful hurricane, a mysterious fog envelops a small town in Maine. The customers of a local supermarket hold their ground inside the building. One of the witnesses to the lightning-fast attack of the natural calamity claims that someone or something lurks in the fog. Artist David Drayton, who came to the store with his 5-year-old son for groceries, leads a group of activists determined to get to the bottom of what happened. It soon turns out that the fog indeed shelters half-fantastical creatures. The spontaneously formed group of survivors is soon shaken by serious conflicts and disagreements… Based on Stephen King's novella "The Mist"
