About the title
What is reality? Does a person have a choice? Are we truly alive, or do we merely imagine that we are, while in fact only one human organ is alive — the brain, and even that lies in an eternal sleep? If so, are we able to awaken on our own, or will help be needed, perhaps from outside? Who or what put billions of people to sleep, and for what purpose? Neo, also known as Thomas Anderson, will get the answers to these and many other questions from the legendary and elusive stranger Morpheus. He will pull Neo from the clutches of the Matrix, tell him what happened to Earth in the twenty-first century, teach him a great deal, and show him things that once seemed impossible... For Morpheus believes that Neo is the One, the liberator of humanity and the only person who can help win the unequal battle against the machines that enslaved people — machines that people themselves created.
