About the title
The world is falling apart. No one knows exactly what happened, but earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, and other disasters are occurring all over the planet. School teacher Marty Anderson notices strange advertisements everywhere: someone named Chuck Krantz is being thanked for "39 wonderful years." First he catches sight of a banner on a building, then sees a commercial on television. After that, Chuck seems to pop up literally everywhere. But who is this man, and why does he matter so much?
