About the series
A documentary miniseries about one of the strangest scams of the 1970s, produced by the Duplass brothers ("Room 104"). "The Lady and the Dale" tells the story of entrepreneur Elizabeth Carmichael, who, during the U.S. energy crisis, patented a fuel-efficient three-wheeled sports car. The project got funding, but soon the woman vanished (with the money raised, of course). The investigation uncovered incredible schemes and, most importantly, a secret about Carmichael that was shocking for its time.
