About the title
In the spring of 1922, amid an era of decaying morals, dazzling jazz, and "bootleg liquor kings," Nick Carraway arrives in New York from the Midwest. Pursuing his own American dream, he settles next door to the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby, famous for his parties, while on the opposite shore of the bay live his cousin Daisy and her husband, the rakish aristocrat Tom Buchanan.
