About the title
1898. London. Young engineer Colonel John Patterson receives an urgent assignment to build a bridge over a river in the African province of Tsavo. Having dreamed of traveling to Africa all his life, Patterson leaves his pregnant wife behind and hurries to the construction site, where a whole army of workers awaits him.
