About the title
Robert McCall is a former special forces operative. After leaving the service, he intends to start a normal, peaceful life, having promised himself never to pick up a weapon again. But one day he meets a young woman who earns her living through prostitution, and right before his eyes she is beaten by thugs and taken away to an unknown location. He decides to find her, after which he enters into an unequal fight against the Russian mafia and corrupt CIA agents. For the sake of justice, he is ready to break his own promise and use weapons against people who simply do not deserve to live in this world...
