About the title
England is struck by flooding of unprecedented scale. In London, water gradually seeps into the home of a pregnant woman, and she barely manages to reach the hospital in time to give birth to her long-awaited child. But even there it becomes unsafe. The woman, along with her baby and husband, moves out to the countryside to her husband's parents' house. But tragic circumstances soon separate the couple, and the mother and child must try to survive in the harsh conditions of this new world.
