About the title
Five friends wanted one last adventure before settling into ordinary life. They chose the coast of Thailand and the wildest cave the locals call the Devil's Mouth. Inside there are narrow channels, water up to the ceiling, and no life jacket — only adrenaline. Deep within the stone labyrinth a surprise awaited them. A storm had passed through a week earlier, and the powerful waves had driven all kinds of creatures inside. First they noticed jellyfish, then a school of small fish. Space grew tight, the water rose half a meter, and the gaps between the rocks narrowed so much that they had to swim single file. Some began to panic when a fin flashed in the clear water, but no one admitted to seeing it. Further on, the channels split. The friends stopped and checked the map the guide had given them, but the wet sheet fell apart in their hands. In the end the friends chose the left passage — it seemed wider — but after two hundred meters they ran into a stone wall. Soon the group threw away everything unnecessary, keeping only flashlights and knives.
