About the series
"Darkness" is a six-part crime drama television series from ITV1, based on J. R. Holliday's debut novel "From the Shadows." The series, in which Laura Donnelly plays Inspector Monica Kennedy and Mark Rowley plays Detective Connor Crawford, tells of a chilling cat-and-mouse game in the idyllic Scottish Highlands, where the body of a young man is found in a remote area in an extremely unusual position. Detective Monica Kennedy fears this is only the beginning of a horrifying campaign that will strike at the very heart of the rural community. Paranoia gradually mounts and dark secrets surface, as the locals begin to realize a serial killer is hiding among them.
