About the title
14-year-old Sydney moves with her parents from Brooklyn to Bridge Hollow — the safest town in the United States, holding that title for 10 years. At first the girl isn't thrilled about the new place, but after seeing how the town is decorated for Halloween, she changes her mind. Her father, on the contrary, finds it all ridiculous, since he believes only in science and despises silly superstitions. When Sydney finds an old lantern in the attic and lights it, she unleashes the vengeful spirit of Stingy Jack, who begins bringing the Halloween decorations to life. Now the girl must team up with her skeptical dad to figure out how to free the town from the curse, all while fending off zombies, giant spiders, and axe-wielding clowns.
