About the title
Five clergymen end up in the defendant's chair and eventually behind bars, charged with the murder of a deranged nun on whom they performed an exorcism. Several years later, a meticulous and inquisitive journalist named Nicole begins her own investigation to find out why the convicted men actually killed the nun. Father Anton, in a private conversation with Nicole, assures her that the woman they killed was possessed by demons but turned out to be far weaker than the evil spirit. Nicole soon finds herself drawn into a chain of inexplicable events, realizing that she herself is becoming possessed by demons, and that the clergymen had in fact lost their earlier battle with the demonic entity.
