About the series
Edmond Dantès's future looks bright: he has just become captain of a ship and is preparing to marry the love of his life, the beautiful Mercédès. However, he has no idea that he has enemies who, out of envy, are plotting against him. Edmond is unjustly accused of Bonapartism and sent without trial to the prison of the Château d'If. After ten years of imprisonment, Edmond loses all hope of rescue, but suddenly meets another prisoner — the Abbé Faria, who has spent many years digging a tunnel to escape, but ended up in Dantès's cell by mistake. His new companion tells Edmond about treasure hidden beyond the castle, but soon dies, and Dantès makes his escape alone. Now he is the mysterious Count of Monte Cristo, determined to take revenge on those who destroyed his life.
