About the title
Former rock star Naomi, struggling with a creative crisis and financial hardship, is forced to return with her son Dylan to her hometown of Elbe, to a house full of painful memories. Here, many years ago, her father, a priest, committed a mysterious suicide. While going through his belongings, Naomi finds a tape recording his confession to an old crime, as well as an ominous warning. Soon children begin disappearing one after another in town, and Dylan's behavior grows increasingly frightening. The locals whisper about the return of an ancient evil that devours souls. To save her son, Naomi must team up with a former lover — a journalist and a church apostate — to uncover a dark secret rooted in the past of her own family and hometown.
