About the title
Adaline Bowman is a hundred-year-old young woman, born in 1908. After a car accident and being struck by lightning in 1937, she stopped aging. Every ten years she changes her identity, documents, job, and surroundings. Her only constant companions are her aging daughter, a blind pianist friend who doesn't know Adaline's true age, and the tenth dog of the same breed she's owned. One New Year's Eve, Adaline meets a charming young man named Ellis, for whom she wants to stop running.
