About the title
Summer, 1986. Every Saturday, three sixteen-year-old friends have fun sneaking into their local movie theater to watch films for free. But their usual routine is upended when one of the boys decides to ask the girl of his dreams to the 4:30 showing of an R-rated movie. That's where the real fun begins—provided their plans aren't ruined by the theater's unpleasant manager, or someone's mom who happens to be in the same screening. "The 4:30 Movie" is a movie-obsessed coming-of-age comedy, the most personal film of Kevin Smith's career.
