About the series
A sequel to the detective series "Dances on Sand." Zoya was once a happy wife and mother, adored her job at a kindergarten, and lived a peaceful life. Then something broke, and she lost everything. For two years now she has been undergoing treatment with a psychiatrist; during this time she has repeatedly suffered memory lapses and even attempted suicide. She is doing better now, but her daughter has grown unused to her, her husband has remarried, and although the family still looks after Zoya, it is no longer really her family. Arriving at her ex-husband's parents' dacha, she feels like a stranger no one needs. That very day, a strange burial site is discovered not far from their village: under a concrete slab lie the bones of a man who died two years earlier. The police identify him and question local residents. No one recognizes the deceased... except Zoya. And that same night, a new murder takes place. The case is handled once again by the familiar investigators Tatyana and Pavel. Now working together as equals, it seems their relationship has only grown more complicated...
