About the title
The film tells the story of the emergence of hip-hop culture in France in 1989. A group of friends from a disadvantaged neighborhood finds in the new musical movement a means of self-expression. Hip-hop is not just rapping over music, but also graffiti and dance. A new subculture is born, gathering rebellious youth around it. This activity draws the attention of the authorities, who begin to fight against hip-hop and its followers.
