About the series
Leningrad, 1967. A series of murders takes place in the Obvodny Canal district, right in the center of the city. A maniac operates exclusively at night: he rapes and strangles women, leaving mysterious signs over the bodies of his victims — strange symbols drawn in charcoal. KGB Major Chubin, who already has experience solving similar cases, is brought in to investigate: a few years earlier he tried to expose a pagan sect worshipping Chernobog. At the time, the major attempted to infiltrate the secret society, but was exposed and himself became the victim of the cruel psychopath who led the sect. Chubin was rescued at the last moment, but the ordeal left an indelible mark on his fate. Despite the psychological trauma he suffered, Chubin remains a consummate professional. He is the only one who specializes in solving serial murders, and immediately realizes that the current series is once again linked to the cult of Chernobog.
