About the series
It's the cozy 1980s. In the small provincial town of Hawkins, Indiana, nothing extraordinary ever happens — life goes on as usual, and everyone is content with the way things are. So when a teenager named Will (Noah Schnapp), one of the inhabitants of this idyllic little place, disappears under very strange circumstances, at first no one but his mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) and his best friends takes it seriously. So what, the boy went out to play and lost track of time — happens to anyone, right? But his friends decide to take matters into their own hands and set off to search for him. Imagine their surprise when, in the very spot where Will vanished, they find... a girl. Roughly the same age, uncommunicative, with short-cropped hair, and possessing superpowers that aren't always used for the good of those around her. Who is she, where did she come from, and what does she know about their friend's disappearance?
