About the title
The young and remarkably handsome Dr. Edward, an Oxford graduate, arrives to work at a psychiatric clinic where no one is expecting him. His attention is immediately drawn to the beautiful Mrs. Graves, who ended up there for attempting to murder the husband who tortured her. The asylum's director employs treatment methods that seem strange by official medical standards and even befriends some of the patients. But Edward will soon come to realize that this is far from the strangest thing hidden within the walls of the hospital.
