A team of scientists is working on a revolutionary space-travel technology - the world's first engine capable of altering space. One of the test launches ends in tragedy - the project is shut down and the researchers lose their funding. But they are not ready to abandon years of work. Going underground, the scientists continue their research - and are willing to do anything for the sake of progress, including acts that cross the boundaries of the law.
