About the title
The sea always enchants with its nature. Many legends have been told about the seas. A mother tells some of them to her son and daughter. These legends are passed down from generation to generation: amazing creatures called selkies live in the sea waters — enchanted people in the form of seals. At first the children take their mother's story for a fairy tale. But it soon turns out that the daughter, Saoirse, is the last of these wondrous creatures. She is a selkie. The children uncover many secrets they never suspected before.
